Project Lifesaver Receivers (5), 35 Electronic Search Specialists
Project Lifesaver is an invaluable service offered in Oswego County, providing peace of mind to families and caregivers of those at risk of wandering or becoming lost. Our team now has 5 Project Lifesaver Receivers and 35 personnel trained as electronic search specialists, ready to respond in the event of an emergency.
Certified K-9 Units
Our dedicated team is proud to have one certified trailing bloodhound and one certified Human Remains Detection (HRD)K-9. These highly trained dogs play a crucial role in our operations, assisting in locating missing persons and providing support during searches. The team works closely with other nearby NYSFEDSAR teams to also provide airscent and water recovery K-9s.
One Wheel Litter Carrier
The rescue team's litter carrier is the perfect tool for difficult rescue operations. It features a single wheeled design, making it easy to maneuver through challenging terrain, and is constructed from lightweight yet durable materials to ensure it can withstand the demands of tough rescue operations. It is ideal for transporting injured subjects from remote locations and can handle weight up to 250lbs.
Incident Mapping
We utilize CalTopo mapping software for live team tracking, search assignments, and map overlays. This allows us to quickly and accurately view the progress of our rescue teams and assign search areas for the most efficient utilization of time and resources.
Drone with Thermal Imaging, 3 SUAS Pilots
Our team has a state-of-the-art drones with thermal imaging and live feed capabilities to our command post. Our SUAS certified pilots are fully trained and experienced in operating these drones in order to maximize safety and efficiency. This technology allows us to better assess the situation and better assist any endangered individuals.
