Project Lifesaver Helps Locate Missing Constantia Resident in 21 Minutes

Oswego County Pioneer Search and Rescue Team assists with swift, successful multi-agency response

This morning, the Oswego County Pioneer Search and Rescue Team assisted in locating a missing elderly woman in the Town of Constantia who is enrolled in Project Lifesaver. She was found in good condition just 21 minutes after the team arrived on scene.

The woman was located 1.18 miles from the point where she was last seen. The team responded with four Project Lifesaver receivers and a drone to support Oswego County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police.

This successful response is a testament to the Project Lifesaver International program and its mission to help public-safety agencies quickly locate people with cognitive conditions who may wander. Today’s outcome shows how preparation, technology, and teamwork can bring a loved one home safely.
